1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing

Most of the images on our blog are wedding related, but I swear that isn’t all we shoot. So I just want to state for the record that this car isn’t marrying anybody. But I’m sure a few people would like to take it out for an evening.

The 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL is considered one of the most collectible Mercedes-Benz models of all time and it has those really cool “gullwing” doors. Sports Car International magazine ranks the 300SL as the number 5 sports car of all time. I’ll go with that. Jay Leno is a big time car collector and he owns a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL as well, and he says that only 1402 of the 300SL’s were ever produced. So I’ll go with that, too.

This one belongs to Todd Blue and Indigo Classic Cars in Louisville, KY, and we are thankful for the opportunity to photograph such a valuable car. At auction, they can go for more than three-quarters of a million dollars.

The Wedding of Jackie and Brian (Louisville, Kentucky)

Jackie & Brian were married on November 20, 2010. The day began at the Seelbach Hilton in downtown Louisville where they both got prepared for the day. They decided to see each other before the ceremony. ( This is something we encourage because it allows the bride and groom to have a special moment early in the day, creates beautiful photos, and generally puts them at ease afterward.) They shared their moment on the street outside of the Seelbach, and afterward, we had time for a few portraits and then the bridal party hopped on a trolley and stopped at a couple locations downtown for pictures before heading to Concordia Lutheran Church for the ceremony. After the formal portraits, we attended the reception at the Kosair Shriner Center Ballroom which was a lot of fun. Jackie & Brian are such a sweet couple and they compliment each other well! We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them and photographing their wedding.

Katie & Ben Engagement in Indiana

Katie & Ben are getting married April 10, 2009.  We had an awesome engagement session in downtown New Albany and at Mount Saint Francis in Indiana.  With Michelle & I both photographing, we were able to work out a lot of creative shots and have a lot of fun.  Katie & Ben were great and clearly enjoyed the experience.

We love engagement sessions because they really allow us to get to know our clients better, so when the wedding day arrives, everyone knows what to expect.  It is also a great opportunity for our clients to see how they look in our pictures and they can give feedback about what they like most, and on their wedding day, we can work to make it everything they dreamed.
